11/19/2010Iowa – The Hawkeyes are picked by many to finish last in the Big Ten this season despite returning four starters. However coaching stability has certainly been a problem. Fran McCaffery comes over from Siena where he led them to three consecutive NCAA tournaments. The Hawkeyes return just one double digit scorer from last year’s 10-22 team in 6’5” junior Matt Gatens. Iowa has brought in 6’1” junior college transfer Bryce Cartwright who started 20 games as a freshman at Fresno State to help in their backcourt. Don’t expect much out of the Hawkeyes this season as they will be near or at the bottom of the conference.
